The visas issued at the border crossing are superseded by
the electronic authorization and the traveler does not have to wait in the long
queue at the Turkish Embassy or Consulate.
The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey has extended the
deadline for the E Visa process until 31 Dec 2014 i.e., the traveler’s wishing
to travel Turkey can apply for the Visa on Arrival, if they are not able to
obtain the same before their travel online.

Travelers willing to visit Turkey for tourist and trade

However, there are limitations for some countries such
as, an applicant should hold a valid Schengen visa or a valid visa (except for
electronic -visas) from any of the OECD member countries; or should have a
valid residence permit of a Schengen or OECD country.
There is a list of countries whose citizens are allowed
to travel Turkey with their respective national IDs.
