Visa on Arrival- An Evisa Turkey Update

Evisa Turkey Online
Turkish government has issued a recent update for travelers who don’t get their visa prior to their travel to Turkey.

At Istanbul Airport

If you land up at Istanbul Airport without having a valid visa, then you have three options-
Option 1. You can apply for the eVisa yourself, by connecting your smart devices such as- phones, tablets and laptops with the airports wi-fi.

Option 2. Self service kiosks are kind of self service machines. With these machines you can apply for the visa yourself at the airport itself.

Option 3. You can get an old sticker type visa on arrival. Visa counters will remain at the airport, but the cost of the visa has been changed to £20, which has to be paid in cash.

At any other airport

But, if you land up in any other airport, including Dalaman International Airport & Bodrum Milas Airport, then also you can apply for a visa on arrival. Here you can get an old sticker type visa at the visa counter, for which you have to pay a fee amount of £20 in cash.

An update on Turkish Visas

As per the new guidelines issued by the Turkish government, visitors arriving in Turkey on or after 11 April will have to get an e-visa online before travel. Meanwhile, in the transition period, visas on arrival will be available, but it takes lots of time and strength to stand in long queues at airports. Tourists entering the Turkish Territory via airports and land borders from Istanbul, Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman Airports must  purchase a valid e-visa in advance.

What is an e-Visa?

E-Visa is not a stamp or a seal that needs to be there in your passport, but is electronically attached to your passport that allows the bearer to enter Turkey legally.

Applying for this visa is easy and less time consuming process as all you need to do is go online, fill-in a simple application form, make payment and your visa will be delivered to you in two working days. You need a passport which must be valid for at least six months at the time of your entrance in Turkey. This visa is valid for a total of 180 days and enables you to stay in the territory for 90 days per visit.
